About Victor

I'm the author of the Pura Belpré Honor Book The Island of Forgotten Gods, and the International Latino Book Award winner, Time Villains. My middle grade books combine adventure, mythology and the Puerto Rican/Latine experience. Outside of writing, I lead digital innovation at HBO Max, ran social media for YouTube & Skittles, designed games for Hasbro, wrote and produced an award-winning documentary on virtual worlds, and taught third graders. I miss my many years teaching, and school visits are one of my favorite aspects of being a middle grade author. I love getting students excited about stories, reading and writing.
