Tadgh Bentley
Award-winning author/illustrator and former teacher with 15 years experience
About Tadgh
With eleven traditionally-published books and over 15 years of classroom experience, I’m passionate about connecting with readers, writers, and artists of all ages. I love demystifying the creative process—sharing the twists, turns, and joys of writing and illustrating. Whether presenting to large groups or leading hands-on workshops, I’m happy to customize topics, formats, and timetables to suit your students.

What educators say
“Every session Tadgh has had with my third grade students has been an absolute delight! …He brings out their creativity and confidence. As soon as he leaves, they are already asking when he can return for another session.”
“One of the Grade 2 teachers extended your writing challenge, and the students were so engaged they didn’t want to stop! They were genuinely disappointed when it was time to move on.”
“The kids had a blast creating their own paintings with Tadgh and the finished pieces were marvelous. We would gladly have Tadgh back to work with the museum again.”
Visit formats
What a visit includes
I offer both presentations to large groups and workshops for smaller ones, and can tailor my visit to your desires. My typical presentation involves a reading of one of my books, a discussion about how it was made, and time for questions. I also do some interactive drawing demos for some ages.
Fees vary by format, travel, and your school's needs. Reach out directly for a quote and open dates.
