I write stories steeped in folklore and magic, where young protagonists tackle big adventures and bigger questions. Although I grew up in Arizona's desert, my heart yearns for my ancestral Nordic lands. When I'm not writing, I'm usually knitting yet another sweater (sweater weather is the best weather). I live in Connecticut with my family. I want to visit your school! It's more important than ever for kids to have access to books--yet more difficult, with book bans and challenges on the rise. When kids get to meet authors, it helps them to see that real people are behind these stories. And that can help them recognize how *their own* stories are valid and worth telling. It might even inspire the next generation of authors and illustrators!
