About Patricia

One thread running through my work is my career as a librarian and author. My books encourage children to: - Read and share books. - Ask questions and explore. - Grow curious about science and nature. - Appreciate Texas and Southern culture. - Connect with libraries and librarians. - Find friendship through stories. - Learn through humor and familiar storytelling patterns.

What educators say

“Our school (Round Valley Learning Academy) is in Wallsburg, Utah. Utah is one of the world’s richest locations for dinosaur fossil discoveries. Students have opportunities to visit nearby museums and actual digs. Ms. Vermillion’s book Dear Ms. Guadalupe is the perfect way to prepare students for a field trip!”

What a visit includes

With thirty years of experience as a teacher and librarian working with students, I am enthusiastic about guiding them through the entire writing process, from brainstorming to finalizing a piece. I frequently use the phrase “What if?” in my sessions to encourage creative thinking. My aim is to help students understand that authors write, edit, and make decisions—similar to the tasks they perform for their teachers. I truly believe everyone has the potential to become an author: Read, Read, Read. If you have any questions or concerns about a visit, please fill out the contact form on my website or email me at patricia.vermillion60@gmail.com. I
