Laura Roettiger
Author of books combining STEM and Kindness
About Laura
I'm a reading specialist who taught my students to love reading by encouraging them to learn about things they were curious about. We worked together in small groups to read and write creatively weaving in what they wanted to know and what they needed to learn. Based on my teaching experience, I've been writing for children and love presenting. As a lifelong learner, my school and library presentations vary and include information about my books, hands on experimentation of science concepts, guided writing practice showing the process from brainstorm through revision.

What educators say
“My 2nd graders love science and they love asking questions so this was the perfect author’s visit! After a read aloud of Aliana Reaches for the Moon they had the chance to ask Ms. Roettiger more questions about becoming an author and about the phases of the moon & the night sky. Two of my students even dressed up as Aliana for our school’s Parade of Books!”
“Laura’s presentation inspired my students to embrace curiosity, get messy, and be creative! We loved hearing Laura read her book Aliana Reaches for the Moon, learning more about the story, and about Laura’s inspiration for writing.”
