About Erika
Hi, I’m Erika Lewis. I write about magic, monsters, and ordinary kids discovering they’re capable of extraordinary things. I’m the author of the Kelcie Murphy series, The Color of Dragons, Firebrand from Legendary Comics, and more. I grew up in Virginia and studied Math and Theatre at Vanderbilt University—an unusual combination, but a great foundation for dreaming up impossible worlds and figuring out how they work. During a semester abroad, I explored haunted ruins and magical forests that sparked my imagination and gave me a lifelong appetite for adventure. While developing scripted and reality shows for studios and networks, the fantastical worlds in my own imagination demanded their turn too, and I began writing the stories I couldn’t stop thinking about. Today, I love sharing that creative spark with students. Through my books and school visits, I hope to hook reluctant readers, encourage curious minds, and help young writers discover that their next great adventure can begin with an idea of their own.
