About Cherilyn

Cherilyn Chin shares the personal stories behind her award-winning 8 book early reader chapter book series, Lily Lu to the Rescue. Lily is a spunky 7-year-old Chinese American animal lover who travels with the world with her marine biologist and writer mother, and they save ocean and aquatic animals. Cherilyn has worked at public aquariums, including the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, and Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. She has held a 3-day-old sea otter pup in the palm of her hand, cuddled with a 1-week-old penguin chick and interacted with several octopuses, even getting a painting from a giant pacific octopus! Cherilyn loves the ocean and shares her infectious passion with your students. Soon they too will be proud ocean stewards!
