About Anica

Anica Mrose Rissi is the award-winning author of more than a dozen books for kids and teens, including laugh-out-loud funny picture books; friendship-based chapter books; spooky, funny, and heartfelt middle grade stories; and propulsive, thought-provoking YA novels. Anica loves visiting schools and talking with students about all stages of the writing process, from ideas and drafting to revisions and beyond. Her energetic, interactive presentations and workshops are packed with brainstorming challenges; writing tips, techniques, and encouragements; hard-earned insights about process and perseverance; and, of course, good stories. Her goal for each visit is to leave every single student excited about reading and empowered to create new stories of their own. Learn more at anicarissi.com.

What educators say

“The day with you was just about everything I dream of happening in an author visit. It was a genuinely inspiring event. I heard one student say, 'Now that I've written this much, I'm going to write a chapter a week!”

— Ms. Zwick, Education Director

“I have received 100% positive feedback from teachers and students alike! Your storytelling was masterful and you totally connected with the students. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving us an amazing experience!”

— Ms. Henderson, Teacher Librarian

“The students and teachers were raving about you and your books today! We are so appreciative of all the time you spent with the students.
