Aiming to Intrigue, Inform, and Inspire
About Angela
Hi! I'm Angela, and I adore writing and illustrating books for children. My award-winning picture books take a closer look at the human experience through various times and cultures. My hope is to inspire curiosity, exploration, and connection in our world and its beautiful people. I currently live in Colorado with my husband, where we count down the days we can talk again to our two college-aged sons each week. Learn more about me and my books on my website (find link above).

What educators say
“Having you come to Georgia and to Pitner Elementary was a complete honor. . . FYI: There is a waiting list for your book.”
“Thank you again for your wonderful presentation! It was a big hit with our kids and teachers alike. The teachers have been circulating our copies of [MousterWorks] to read to the kids.”

What a visit includes
A day with me includes up to four 30-60 minute presentations with groups of up to 150 students. Each interactive presentation includes a read-aloud, a peek into my illustration process, an illustration demo, and time for questions. I'm always happy to tweak things to fit your needs—whether for younger, older, or special needs audiences. In addition to topics you'll find in my books, my presentations can include: * Pro Art Tips * Illustration Jobs * Character Design * Sensory Art Exploration * Start to Finish: Illustrating a Book * Art History & Appreciation * Research to Inform Your Art * A Mini MousterWorks Art Museum Scavenger Hunt (perfect for younger audiences) Alternately, a day's visit can be up to three 90-minute hands-on workshops with students. The first 30 minutes takes an in-depth behind-the-scenes tour of how I illustrate picture books. We spend the next 45 minutes designing characters where I show students how to draw characters from multiple angles, show them how to draw their characters in action, and how to keep them looking alive and consistent. The last fifteen minutes are a chance for students to ask questions. For grades 5-12.
Fees vary by format, travel, and your school's needs. Reach out directly for a quote and open dates.
